My February 12-12-12 Post!

For my 12 photos in February I decided to take some pictures of my kids at home a couple days ago. One thing I noticed when I went to make an album for our personal 2011 photos was that I used my cell phone to snap way too many photos at home. So I decided to take out my camera and snap some of those everyday moments that usually aren’t captured. When my daughter doesn’t have school she wakes up and plays with her brother. This day she just so happened to be wearing her Christmas jammies in February:-PI also brought the camera back out when we were getting ready for bed that evening.

Lily after she woke up. Wondering why I'm using "the black camera" .

Great shots Lindsey. Lily has such pretty hair! My absolute favorite shot is the last one! Seriously, print worthy!

So many great photos Linday! My favorite though, is #3 with the eye contact! They look like they have so much fun together! And we have the same ball popper toy for Cadence! We love it, just wish it had a volume control! :-) Can’t wait to see what you post next month!

You have such beautiful children, and capture them SO well! Love the first shot of Alex, the lighting is lovely! The last shot of them together made me say a big ol “awwww” you can really tell they love each other!

LOVE the pictures in their jammies…LOVE it! My favorite one is the picture of Lily hanging upside down – such a real smile on her face. :)

My First 12-12-12 post! January 2012

I’ve seen many photographers do photo projects and I’ve decided to join in. A group of pro photographer friends from around the country have decided to do a 12-12-12 project where we take 12 photos one day out of the month and share them on the 12th day. We will do this throughout 2012.

I’ve decided to use this opportunity to play around more with my camera and shoot things I’ve never shot before as well as experiment with different processing styles. For this first one I took my camera outside my own house and tried to take photos of some ordinary things. This Christmas my husband bought me a macro lens, so this was the first time I’ve really used it.I also decided to go for more of a cool faded look.

1. I couldn't believe my lemon tree still had fresh lemons on it. It's the longest they have ever lasted.

2. I did what anyone with a new macro lens would do. Take a picture of a flower! These are actually those little purple weed flowers.

3. This one is of course out of focus as my son was rushing up towards my face. I just couldn't believe how close this new lens could focus (macro, duh)

4. My daugther loves looking at flowers and bent down to take a look at this one.

5. It was actually a pretty tiny flower.

6. Lily enjoying the cool breeze.

7. still picking flowers!

8. it was the first time I noticed Lily put her shoes on backwards.

9. Don't usually open all the way to f/1.2 but gave it a go

10. Alex up from his nap!

11. He's such a sweet boy!

12. still only 4 teeth!

Check out my friend Stephanies’s blog, she’s also doing the 12-12-12 project over at Addi Kay Photography

sweet pics! I’m jealous of all of you who get to spend the winters outdoors without piles of clothes on!

Omg, Lindsay – not sure what I love more…the macro work or the post processing. Beautiful images all the way around! Can’t wait to see more from you!

Lauren & Family – Maternity Session (Jupiter, FL)

Lauren already had her handsome son Andrew, so it’s clear that I am behind in blog posts! I will try to keep up as we go through our busy holiday season. Many families and babies to share for their holiday cards this year.
