Almost rained out again!! We were able to sneak in one family session over a rainy weekend out at Riverbend Park.

I’ve seen many photographers do photo projects and I’ve decided to join in. A group of pro photographer friends from around the country have decided to do a 12-12-12 project where we take 12 photos one day out of the month and share them on the 12th day. We will do this throughout 2012.
I’ve decided to use this opportunity to play around more with my camera and shoot things I’ve never shot before as well as experiment with different processing styles. For this first one I took my camera outside my own house and tried to take photos of some ordinary things. This Christmas my husband bought me a macro lens, so this was the first time I’ve really used it.I also decided to go for more of a cool faded look.
1. I couldn't believe my lemon tree still had fresh lemons on it. It's the longest they have ever lasted.
2. I did what anyone with a new macro lens would do. Take a picture of a flower! These are actually those little purple weed flowers.
3. This one is of course out of focus as my son was rushing up towards my face. I just couldn't believe how close this new lens could focus (macro, duh)
4. My daugther loves looking at flowers and bent down to take a look at this one.
5. It was actually a pretty tiny flower.

I’m finally getting around to catching our blog up to date! As some of you might know I went on maternity leave for a few months (we had a son, Alex this past February) and I’m in the process of getting back into the swing of things. We are now shooting again so please contact us if you want to schedule something!
Since I didn’t get around to posting previews from some of our holiday 2010 shoots I thought I would make a kind of “best of” post to share some of the shoots we did with families and babies.
First we took newborn photos in late September of sweet baby Wesley:
And we also got to do newborn photos with adorable baby Kai. (He was great! Got all of our shots in only 1.5 hours)
We got to meet up with the Foltz family again to photograph the twins at 6 months and do some holiday themed photos. They are too cute!
The Turner/Legris family chose the beach for their family session. Little Zach was the star of the session
The Edwards family chose their house and a nearby park for their family portraits. We got to photograph some brotherly love with Aiden and Jackson.
Our last session of the year was with the Harstad sisters at their house and their neighbor’s yard. They brought their reindeer hats for holiday portraits and we tricked them into smiling at the same time.
Once again behind on the blog! I know this because I’m just getting around to posting Tanner’s newborn photos and we’re getting ready to go take his 3 month photos in a couple weeks. It will be fun to see how much he’s changed already. Tanner didn’t enjoy his newborn photo shoot too much but that didn’t stop us from getting some great shots!
It was a pleasure to go out and shoot baby Brynna’s newborn photos in May. She was very calm and cooperated when we decided to dress her up in our newborn tutu outfit. Big sister Avery also had a great time. We shot the majority of the photos against our black backdrop with our new portable studio.
